BROWN FAMILY HOUSE FIRE

Donation protected
Heather Brown and her family have lost everything in a house fire on 01/06/2021. Heather is one of the most giving people.. always jumping in to support her friends, family and community. Please help this amazing family get back on their feet.

I am including a post written by Heather before the fire.

***** It is with tears in my eyes and my head held low that I type this. I’m NOT one to ask for help, I’m usually the giver, the one helping others with an open heart. I am a hard worker and am always volunteering my time, making sure those who don’t have food are fed, making sure those who don’t have clothes are clothed. You get the picture. It’s just who I am, I’ve been this way my whole life and never ask for anything in return. This is extremely hard for me to do.
Here’s our story - My husband became disabled in October 2018. He was told by the family doctor that due to his multiple heath issues and still ongoing issues, that he is unable to work. He applied for disability and recently received his 4th denial. Long story short, he has to start the process over, so who knows how long that will be which also means no back pay for the last 2 years that he’s been fighting.
We have been living on only my income since then and doing our best to make ends meet. In January 2020, I started crafting to bring in some much needed income. It makes some, but still leaves us struggling.
Crafting has taken over our house. 1/2 of our living room is my craft working area and supplies. Our kitchen table and counter have some sort of craft order on them most of the time. We haven’t eaten dinner at the kitchen table together in almost a year. This is something we always made a point to do.
About a month ago, I posted about an amazing blessing that we had received and how I was selling some stuff to try and contribute. Truth is, we have basically outgrown our house. Our girls are 16 & 21 and have had to share a small bedroom for those 16 years. I know, I know, many kids share bedrooms, I get it. It’s not completely about them having their own room, it’s much more than that.
We were extremely blessed with someone telling us that it had been on their hearts to finish our upstairs for us. This will give us two more bedrooms. The girls will finally have their own rooms and then I will have a craft work area which is their current bedroom. We will get our living room back and most importantly our kitchen table with family dinners.
My plan was to continue crafting and selling items to help financially as much as I was able to with this project Remember, I’m always the one giving from my heart, not one receiving. It’s a hard pill to swallow.
Well on November 23rd, I had a major fall from 10 feet, falling straight down. I shattered my fibula and now have a plate and pins in my leg. I’m non-weight bearing for 12 weeks. So not only has this fall hindered me from being able to crank out craft orders (money lost), I also can’t work. I do get most of my pay, but I am losing some of my much needed pay while being off work and at this point, I’m not really sure when I can go back. Now comes the medical bills, two ambulance rides, a major surgery, 3 nights in the hospital, a second ER visit when my foot turned purple while sitting, PT & OT at home two times a week. And don’t forget all the lab work and X-ray bills.
Before anyone says, what about the stimulus? Yes, that will help some also, but unfortunately it’s not enough right now.
If you feel it in your heart to help us in our time of need it would be greatly appreciated. I have looked at our budget and I am setting a goal of $4,500 that would hopefully get us through. Any monetary gift is appreciated, no matter the amount.
I know things are tight for many people, it’s been a hard year, so if nothing else, please share our story and pray for a full recovery. Pray that the stress of it all can be handled with Grace because it’s definitely hard. If you’ve read this far, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and thank you in advance for helping ❤️ ****
