Help baby Anthony

At one week old Anthony began having difficulties breathing, he was rushed to hospital where he had numerous tests which showed a urine infection.  He needed antibiotics and oxygen and initially it was thought that things would improve once the antibiotics did their job.  However he still needed oxygen and continued having pauses in his breathing.

Anthony was transferred to The Great North Children’s Hospital for further testing.  It was thought an operation would help resolve his difficulties but the doctors would be unsure until they actually began the operation.  At just 2 weeks old Anthony had his operation unfortunately it wasn’t good news, the problem can’t be fixed.  The doctors have inserted tubes into his airways as they are blocked due to a floppy airway and a problem with his vocal chords.  Anthony will need further tests to see why he has this problem and an uncertain time while they wait to see if these tubes will help.

In the meantime his mammy and daddy Georgia and Jason have been right by his side, as if things aren’t difficult enough the current scare with corona virus means they have had to isolate themselves to avoid passing anything on to Anthony.  His mammy is recovering from a c section and daddy is supposed to be returning to work very soon but unsure if this is a possibility.  They aren’t able to have family and friends visit incase anything is passed on so all support is given via messages and social media.  They aren’t able to pop home for a break or a shower and freshen up, something to eat etc etc so the costs of being with your baby are mounting up day by day.  His parents remain strong for Anthony and last thing they need is any financial worries so any thing we can raise will be a huge help.  It’s looking like he could be in hospital for the foreseeable future.

Understandably with current affairs things are tough and uncertain for lots of people so any help no matter how small will be appreciated.
