I am Rob Arruda, this GO FUND ME is created for my highschool friend, Harvey DuPerry's wife, Christine Marie DuPerry.
Because 2020 hasn't been crazy enough, this summer, life decided to throw an extra curve ball to Harvey Duperry, his wife Christine Marie and their children, Brody & Brenna.
Just your every day, hard working family doing their own things. Both kids in graduate school, working towards their own bright futures. Mom and dad, also working hard, and being supportive, proudly watching the kids make their dreams a reality.
That is, until Chris got sick and was diagnosed with colon cancer.
Chris had surgery at the end of July, in which a tumor was removed from her colon.
At the end of August, chemotherapy treatment started. Chris goes every two weeks for chemo. She has good days and she has some really bad days.
Different treatment options are always being explored, as cancer being cancer, is constantly changing the game. Currently, they are waiting on word from the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, for a hopeful next step.
The DuPerry family wishes this was all just a bad dream and they could simply wake up from it but, life does not work that way. So, treatments and whatever else they need to do, they will do, for as long as they need to.
This has been a stressful few months for Chris and the family, and it is only the beginning. There is never a definitive end date to cancer going away, if one treatment will work or if they will need another type of treatment. Because of that, the burden on the family is more than just mental & emotional, it is also financial.
Hospital visits, doctor's visits, continuous treatments, travels, overnight stays. Let's not forget, Covid plays a part in this, as well. It affects every kind of visit for Chris and because of that the family can't always be together, for each other. We, as friends & family, need to be there, for them.
At this time, I am asking anyone who is interested in making a monetary donation, to please do so. Please know, no amount is too small and every amount is very much appreciated.
Thank you, in advance for your support to the DuPerry family.
P.S.
If you happen to see Chris and you want to give her a smile and a warm hug, as that always goes a long way but, remember.... Covid & ... Cancer. So just a smile, ONLY, from 6 feet away, will have to do.
