this is very embarrassing for me so but I’m so desperate right now for help. So here is some of my story .
My name is Stephanie and I have 3 daughters . Aubrey, Autumn & Addy . Two on the spectrum with autism . Autumn is severely autistic , developmentally delayed and nonverbal . Over the last year things have been getting worse for autumn and over the last 6 months she has been very out of control and having very unsafe episodes at school and at home . It has been become unsafe for me to even drive her anywhere most days without her attacking me and/or her sisters from the backseat . It took a while for us to accept she may need inpatient help, until a very bad incident in December happened where I had to pull over and call for help and she was hospitalized for few weeks in a facility in GA because unfortunately no one in TN will accept her due to her being Nonverbal. The facility in GA discharged her after a few weeks after only being on new medication for few days and so she came home very unstable because they don’t have long term care for girls with autism, only boys! Which is crazy to me. I was able to find a place that accepted her in Knoxville for long term care but there’s been a waiting list and she can’t go until end of February . So we have been trying to just manage things with her at home and school. She is having bad episodes at school and hitting and biting teachers and self harm everyday . She’s currently been in hospital again for a week now because she had another episode of attacking me and her sisters, this time hitting her 6 year old sister mutiple times and running into road in front of cars screaming , banging her head on anything she can and I had to call for help again because I couldn’t even safely get out of my drive way to take her to school .she had tests ran at hospital this week finally after I begged for bloodwork for 6 months and is severely anemic and having to get IV transfusion every few days and then weekly for a while .
- [ ] I recently lost my job after taking a leave of absence and it expired and they denied it when I tried to extend it so I won’t be able to go back until she is settled in somewhere at the facility that she wil be staying at. My boyfriend is also now about to lose his job as well because he is out of sick time and has had to be there to care for my other two girls while i am in hospital with autumn . The last few months have been financially drowning us trying to keep utilities on because of we have gotten behind now with hardly any money coming in: I’m currently not able to pay my rent this month and it’s now late with extra fees added . We’ve never been late on rent so this is hitting us hard and bills are piling up and over due . I am desperate and don’t know where to go for help. And as embarrassing as this is to make this page and ask for help I am hoping we can maybe be able to get a little help . Anything helps at this point .
- [ ] My other two girls currently have flu and quiet a few other things going on in our lives , so life is jus attacking us from all areas at this point .
- [ ] Thanks in advance to anyone who does help even if it’s just a few dollars . I won’t be able to go back to work until Autumn is settled into a facility and things calm down : this has taken a huge toll on my mental and physical health because of all the stress and worrying constantly .
