FightFit Contenders Frank Dando's Sports Academy

Frank Dando Sports Academy (FDSA) has been operating for 39 years and is focused on helping troubled teenage boys. FDSA provides a supportive, predictable, and consistent educational environment where intensive physical education is superimposed into the academic curriculum. As a result, students develop positive behaviours in the classroom and at home. Some of the principles that sit behind the physical training elements of FDSA are also applied to the FightFit Contenders training camp.

 

FightFit Contenders is a 6-week training program designed to allow participants to explore what it is like to train like a real fighter with the option to step into the ring at the end of it. Participants will go through the real challenges faced in each session, testing their perceived physical and mental limits, finding the joy of breaking through them, and learning things about themselves that perhaps they weren't aware of before. The best part, the things they will experience and learn about themselves on this journey apply to all aspects of life.

 

The FightFit Contenders program ends with an intra-club sparring event held on Saturday 26th of June at FightFit Boxing Centre South Melbourne. We recommend a $20 donation for entry into the event however, any contribution is much appreciated. If you wish to attend the event, simply make a donation and let us know your name on the door upon arrival. All proceeds from ticket/door sales will be donated to FDSA.

 

Our target is to raise  $6000 as this is half the annual tuition cost at FDSA. Generally, boys that attend this school come from challenging socioeconomic backgrounds. With the money raised, we would like to either help financially support a student with their tuition costs or let the school determine where those funds are most needed to enable the best outcomes for their pupils.

Food, alcohol, and non-alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase on the day. All ages welcome.
