My name is Mandla, I'm a postgraduate LLB student at the University of Witswatersrand, where I fell in love with yoga. I was given a wonderful opportunity by my guru to do a mentorship course and in 2016, I started teaching yoga and I have never looked back since. Most recently, I have fallen in love with the ancient practice of ashtanga yoga which is a very traditional and highly spiritual form of yoga that encourages full control of mind, body and soul to achieve harmony and balance. My very first experience with ashtanga was mind blowing (to say the least) and it has truly helped me center myself, in more ways than one. As such, my dream is to travel to Rishikesh, India to do a 200hr teacher training course in Ashtanga vinyasa yoga so that I may deepen my knowledge and understanding of this amazing practice in order to help others within my community who are suffering every single day from depression, anxiety, mental and physical pain. I have opened this gofundme account in order to raise the funds I need in order to realize that dream.
I currently need to raise about R40 000 for this trip, which includes the cost for the course, flight, accommodation, meals and day to day expenses. My plan was to leave in December of this year and I am incredibly determined to ensure that it does indeed happen.
I humbly and sincerely ask for your help in realizing this dream and anything you'll be able to contribute would be extremely appreciated.
