Bailey's 15th Annual Toy Drive

15 years ago, I wanted to get rid of my son's old toys to make room for Santa to come see us. I didn't want to throw them away. There was nothing wrong with them. Instead, I figured I'd take them over to the Ft. Worth Housing projects. Surely someone would want them. I gave a Fisher Price basketball goal to a cute little 3 year old, and his face lit up. SO.....I figured I'd start doing that every year. A few years later, Facebook came out, and I asked my friends if they had any toys. The said, "Yeah, but we want to go with you." Fast forward 14 years from its inception....last year, we delivered TWO 26 ft long U-Hauls FULL of bikes and toys, along with a caravan of about 40-50 cars all stuffed with toys, too.
We collect used or new toys. If you can't go out and spend money, go through your kids playroom WITH THEM and ask them what toys they would like to donate to kids that don't always get Christmas.
A few years ago, I had friends that were out of state ask how they could donate cash, SO, we started a GoFundMe link. If you are inclined to donate, I assure you that 100% of the donated funds are used to provide Christmas to the kids of the Ft. Worth Housing Projects
If you and your family would like to be part of the delivery, we will meet at The Grease Monkey in Downtown Arlington for a burger, and then caravan over to Ft. Worth to hand out toys.
This is easily my favorite day of the year. I bet it will be yours, too.
