Love for Barb

Donation protected
Barbara "Barb" Rosenbluth, beloved wife, mother, sister, friend, and colleague, passed away in her sleep on September 18, 2018. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Barb knew her from her quick smile, infectious laugh, and kind words. She made an effort to make a genuine connection to everyone she met and she just had a way of showing that she cared and that you mattered.  I have had the pleasure of working with Barb for the past 5+ years and it is no exaggeration that her passing is mourned by not just her family, friends, and colleagues in the legal field, but building mates she met over the years, the postal service, UPS delivery person, janitorial staff, our various vendors, court clerks, judges, and attorneys, staff at the building deli, the owner of the diner across the street...the list goes on and on. Barb truly was a light who brightened the lives of everyone around her.

But Barb's true love and passion in her life was her beloved husband Larry and son Daniel. Not a day went by when she did not mention Daniel with pride and joy. I told Barb that I wanted to  be the kind of mom she was- a mom who raised such a compassionate, kind, and hard working young man. Barb attended Daniel's back to school night the week before her passing and she spent the last week of her life on cloud 9 after hearing Daniel's teachers reap praises on not just his academic achievements but his character. It was the happiest I've ever seen her.

I am starting this campaign to help support Daniel and to make sure that we can help Daniel achieve everything that Barb dreamed and hoped for him.  Daniel is a high school sophomore and has been a long time volunteer at the Oakland Zoo. Barb was trying to save money to send him to South Africa this summer through a program that the Oakland Zoo organizes. I hope that this campaign can raise the money necessary to send Daniel on a trip of a lifetime. I also would like to raise money to buy him a personal computer. He is the only student I know who goes to the school and public library to use the computer for his homework. The fact that he is a straight A student without the amenities that others take for granted is a testament to this amazing young man. Any additional money raised will be given to Larry for the benefit for Daniel's ongoing educational needs. Larry has been going through medical issues for the past year and I know that a contribution towards Daniel's needs is truly appreciated by the Rosenbluth family.

Barb was full of excitement and could not wait to see what kind of a person Daniel would grow up to be. I know that he had the best mother possible and those who knew and loved Barb will continue to support him in many ways. Your contributions, thoughts, prayers, and love are truly appreciated.
