Rehab Facility for my Son.

Donation protected
My name is Lana K. Grove and I am reaching out to set  up this fund for my son, Jay Redding.
As most of you know, Jay has been battling an addiction to opiates and has had his first relapse in 2 1/2 years.  We have researched so many rehab centers just to find that in order to get a private, good, real and productive help, it takes money. Jay was a high school athelete, graduated from a 4 year college while working several jobs and has worked since he was a teenager.  Drugs happen for many reasons to many people and they do not discriminate.  They get ahold of you and change your entire life and that of your family and friends.
I am hoping to bring more awareness to addiction so people will stop being ashamed and embarrassed - and stand up and help our children - addiction is a disease that can be treated.  Addicts are not hopeless.  Jay desperately wants helps and admitting this is a huge step - he wants to get better and beat this addiction and his family and friends want that too.  We don't want to lose him.   Addiction affects so many people and many people hide from it, ignore it and hope it goes away.  Family and friends are embarassed.  Well I am not.  I have a wonderful son who has made some bad choices and deserves a chance to live.  I love my son and I want him to live and helping raise money for a good private  facility is the best I can do.  I will not lose my son to this addiciton or because of shame, embarassment or because no one wants to understand the disease.  He is a human being and he needs help.  Being in a detox center for 14 days is not enough time to help someone who is addicted.  Their are programs available with doctors, people who care, intensive therapy, physical and mental therapy to help addicts recover - and they need Support.  Without good help and support, the addict will fail over and over and over again until they die.  Those who know Jay know him to be a good, kind and caring person who would do anything to help anyone.  He made some mistakes - bad ones and he made these choices himself but there is still hope.  There is no enabling here - this is a plea from Jay and myself to get him into a facility that will give him all the tools and resources, care and support he needs to survivie.  Any and all money raised for Jay will be handled directly by me, his mom and will be used ONLY for a rehabilitation facility hopefully for 30 to 90 days. Jay is currently in a 2 week rehab center that ends in 2 days.

Jay has a very long and difficult road ahead of him and a tremendous amount of work to do that he willing to do but with help, love, determination and support, he is Superman!
