Give Kids a Chance--Support Village of Hope

Donation protected
In late August, I will visit the Village of Hope (VOH) in Danang, Vietnam. I am raising funds to support the Village of Hope and hope that you will consider making a contribution. This year's donations will be used to support the Village of Hope's general operating costs--food, clothing, shelter, schooling, medical bills, and adult supervision and guidance for the children.

What is the Village of Hope?

The Village of Hope is a home for orphaned, hearing-impaired, and other at-risk children, ages 6 to 18, from Danang and Quang Nam Province, Vietnam. Most of the VOH children attend the local public schools. The hearing-impaired children, however, receive their education on-site from experienced, well-trained teachers because the public schools do not have classes for children with special needs. The Village of Hope enhances children's education by offering extra classes in math, science, English, and computer skills to supplement the instruction given in the overcrowded public schools, which students attend in shifts and where classes often include more than 40 students.

The Village of Hope also provides extracurricular and vocational activities in tailoring, embroidery, cooking, woodworking, art, dance, music, and sports. The VOH provides other crucial support to nurture the children and develop all aspects of their potential. The children are divided into families of about 10, each family having its own dormitory room. About 500 children have grown up at the Village of Hope since its founding in 1993. They have gone on to stable, independent lives, maintaining rewarding jobs, being good citizens, and contributing to society.

My Personal Commitment

I have been involved as a volunteer for the Village of Hope since 1995. I visit every year. Having seen several hundred children grow up at the Village of Hope, I can personally attest to the dramatic, positive impact the VOH has on children’s lives, allowing them to develop their full potential and move on to happy, fulfilling adult lives.

I can attest to the integrity and dedication of the Village of Hope staff, as I have worked side by side with them for more than 20 years.

Transfer of Funds from GoFundMe to the Village of Hope

When we reach our fundraising goal, or approximately once a month if it takes longer than one month to reach our goal, I will withdraw all funds from GoFundMe and transfer them promptly to the Village of Hope’s bank account in Danang via a transfer from my bank. I will personally pay all bank fees incurred in the transfer to Vietnam. No donations will be used for bank fees incurred in transferring contributions to Vietnam.

Thank You!

The Village of Hope children, staff, and I extend our heartfelt thanks for your support.
