There are a million reasons you can find yourself on the streets of New York City without a place to rest your head. On a normal day walking through the neighborhood to purchase groceries to cook, Barry passed a group of men seeking refuge behind a Dominoes dumpster. Barry is not a chef but a quiet and humble being who finds satisfaction in feeding people. Barry says food is the comfort and pleasure to the soul. As family, he will always cook and call one cousin and it becomes a gathering of family and friends. No contribution, no help to prepare mouth watering meals for the last 20 years. Barry’s apartment has been a hub of grub an love.

On another day he witnessed two out of the group of men rummaging through the garbage seeking anything to eat. Barry was compelled to do something. He completed his shopping returned home to whip up some good ole Jamaican food ( brown stew chicken, rice and beans with cole slaw and plantain). Since the first meal to the men, he has served countless more out of his own pocket at least three time a week. Barry may not be able to provide a home for these men, however his kind jester deserves to be assisted not rewarded. Please, If you can find it in your hearts to give whatever you can to aid in Barry’s food drive it will be more than appreciated by the men whom serves. Every little counts.
