Thank You, Grocery Store Workers!

As you well know, we are in a pandemic now and countless frontline warriors have been working to keep us healthy and safe. In this crisis, most of us have recognized and thanked our doctors, nurses, police officers, and other front line responders in one way or another.
But what about the unsung heroes right here in our neighborhood? Heroes who have also been working throughout the pandemic without very much (if any) recognition. I am referring to the grocery store workers who tirelessly stock shelves, decontaminate stores, do our shopping for us and arrange for curbside pickup and home delivery. I don’t believe they ever could have imagined that they too would be on the front lines of the pandemic helping us to continue to live our lives as normal as possible.
I’m asking you to help me raise money for this special group of people to compensate them at this special time of year for their tremendous efforts over the last 9 months.
Although we would like to honor all grocery store workers, that would be too tall an order for us to complete in such a short timeframe. For the sake of practicality, we have chosen the employees of one small but significant store in our neighborhood to be the beneficiary of this fundraiser - Johnny Pomodoro's.
Many of you have been shopping and relying on Johnny Pomodoro's during these unprecedented times. Even if you are not a regular shopper at Johnny Pomodoro's, we are asking for your help and partnership as it is in the spirit of giving and thanking others that we will regain the sense of normalcy that we all pray and hope for. We believe every little bit can make a difference.
