Support for the Staton Family

Augie Staton was our dear friend and co-worker. His life was suddenly taken on November 16th in a pedestrian/car accident that was not his fault. We have set up this page as a way to support Augie’s surviving family members. Please read more about our friend below - and thank you.
Augie Staton, a talented food scientist by trade, could often be found leading his team in the mixing and blending of new innovations in the La Tortilla Factory Research & Development kitchen. Augie was generous with his skill set, and was quick to invite others in, to perhaps share a recipe, or gather an opinion on a new flavor profile – always thoughtfully listening and educating. Every project or team was made better when Augie was part of it. He intuitively supported others, both inside and outside of work, with his calm and grounded energy. Intelligent, patient, humble and kind – we must all aspire to live the values he so effortlessly demonstrated.
Augie loved his family deeply. He is survived by his teenage sweetheart and wife, Kelly, and his two children Bailey, a recent college grad, and Chris, a current college student. Although Augie was a steadfast planner, no family is fully prepared for such a sudden and shocking change as this.
For this reason, Augie’s La Tortilla Factory family was eager to find a way in which we might meaningfully support his surviving family members. We know there will be many unforeseen expenses, shifts, and plans that will need to be done in his absence, and it is our hope that the funds raised here might help ease their journey in some small way.
Augie, we miss you very much. You have left your mark deep in our hearts and minds, and we are forever grateful to have called you our friend.
Love,
Your La Tortilla Factory Family
