The Miami Showband Peace Centre Online is the home of Truth and Reconciliation Platform www.tarp.ie

The Miami Showband Massacre of July 31st 1975 was a notorious event that shocked the world.
Extensive media coverage, numerous TV documentaries, an award-winning book and the 2019 / 2020 Emmy Nominated Netflix film “ReMastered - The Miami Showband Massacre” brought the truth about the horrific murder of three innocent Catholic and Protestant musicians, from north and south, to the attention of a global audience https://www.netflix.com/gb/TITLE/80191046

Sadly, very few atrocities receive such attention but it has long been my goal to establish "The Miami Showband Peace Centre" to afford every victim of terrorism, regardless of social, political or religious background, an opportunity to tell their stories to as wide an audience as possible so that the world will know the true consequences of violence.

This year, Truth and Reconciliation Platform aimed to establish a purpose-designed premises in Newry, County Down, to provide victims’ groups, along with individual victims and their loved ones, with a secure place to work from, and to facilitate dialogue and peace-building. Unfortunately, the necessary restrictions imposed due to the Covid_19 pandemic meant that all of our live fundraising events had to be put on hold.

Fortunately, through the generosity of our supporters, TaRP had raised enough funding to establish an online Peace Centre from where it continues its work of Peace and Reconciliation. The Miami Showband Peace Centre Online is named in memory of three popular young musicians of mixed religions, from north and south, who lost their lives in 1975 while working together, literally in perfect harmony, to bring happiness and healing to everyone on the island of Ireland regardless of social, religious or political background.

To date, Truth and Reconciliation Platform has attracted and influenced a global audience which it continues to grow every day; in just four years, the stories and testimonies of TaRP witnesses have reached hundreds of millions of people all over the world.

Be assured that while the Covid_19 pandemic remains a global threat, the work of Truth and Reconciliation Platform continues apace through The Miami Showband Peace Centre Online at www.the-mspc.org
