Crowder Family

Cameron Crowder, Son of John and Nicole Crowder is a beautiful 3 year old boy from Christiansburg Va., On Sunday 10/21/2018 Cam was taken to Roanoke Memorial due to becoming very ill. Once in the care of Roanoke Memorial he was diagnosed with double pneumonia and croup. He had to be intubated and was battling septic shock. He has been incredibly strong and continues to fight for recovery. He continued to become more and more ill. It was decided he needed to be transported to UVA medical center, but was not stable enough until late last night. A team from UVA traveled to Roanoke and assisted in stabilizing Cam in order to get him to their facility. He arrived late on 10/22/2018 and underwent a 6 hour surgery to establish a central access to his heart for his Ecmo, and explore his abdomen for problems. He currently has an open chest and open abdomen, is on full support to allow his body to heal. They continue to monitor his brain activity and ask for prayers for their little man. Cam’s parents both serve the community in order to help others. His Mother is a health care provider, and Father is a Deputy Sheriff with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. They also have a beautiful Daughter to take care of in this difficult time. They are accruing numerous bills as well as travel and lodging expenses associated with Cam’s care.
