Woodbridge Together COVID-19 Relief Fund
Please join me in raising money for COVID relief to help Woodbridge residents who have been impacted by the pandemic.
I was inspired by the Rotary Club so I’ve created this fundraiser so that residents can show their support for our community and help our neighbors. I am selling luminaria consisting of a paper bag with a battery-operated candle and all profits will be donated to the Woodbridge Rotary Club’s COVID-19 Relief Fund.
On Saturday, March 13th at 6:00 pm, my goal is to create a town-wide event where residents will light their luminaria to commemorate the one year anniversary of the pandemic as a way to remember those who have been affected and to turn this date into something hopeful in our community.
I’m going to encourage participants to write on the luminaria bags words like “Woodbridge Together,” an inspirational message or the name of a loved one who has been affected or lost during this pandemic. I’m also encouraging supporters to share their photos by posting on the “Woodbridge Together” Facebook page I set up.
The idea is to use the luminaria as a visual symbol to foster a sense of community and coming together during this time of social distancing. It would be great to see some of the luminaria displayed in public spaces and I would love to see the words “WOODBRIDGE TOGETHER” spelled out that evening with hundreds of luminarias to create that sense of community and support for one another.
Please help me spread the word in our community by sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family and colleagues. We’ll get through these challenging times by supporting one another. We are Woodbridge Together!
