Early morning on Dec. 26th, Joey was taken by ambulance to Laurel Hospital emergency room. He was having problems breathing. He was admitted to the emergency room and later flown to Medstar Washington Hospital Center by helicopter. They found a mass in his throat that measured 3.5cm. During their biopsy, they discovered it was throat cancer. A few days later, they discovered 2 additional masses in his liver. The larger one is 2cm and the small one is 1cm. We are currently waiting on the results of that biopsy. They performed a traechotomy on him.
In a matter of a week, Joey is now fighting for his life. He will need immediate surgery and treatment that will cost more than any one can afford. His family needs your help.
Joey is 47 years old and is a devoted partner to Thanh Duong for over 14 years and a devoted stepfather to 3 beautiful girls ( Joi 26, Milan 23, and Gia 17). We are currently waiting on the full diagnosis of the origin of the cancer and the stage.
Unfortunately, due to the fact that Joey works in the restaurant business, he did not have health insurance. This is not the ideal time to not have health insurance. There will be cost beyond the hospital bills, in addition to treatment, plus the fact that he will not be working moving forward.
