Erica's Family Fund

Hello Family and Friends.

This campaign is being set up to help Erica Tabor with immediate travel and stay expenses while her husband Dave receives treatment at Massachusetts General, Boston. Erica is taking time off from work to be at the hospital, as his condition continually changes and remains unknown.

As we all know, Erica is a hard working mother of teenagers, loving, thoughtful, faithful, and strong.  She needs to maintain the home expenses in Maine (mortgage, utilities, food, etc...) while traveling back and forth between stays in Boston. This is also the time the kids will be starting their new school year, needing clothes, supplies and support.

Dave has an ongoing lung and heart condition that has now become potentially fatal. Because of this he has been put onto a ventilator and remains in a medically induced coma with paralysis. The medical team is currently in the diagnostic and research stage of Dave's treatment. These immobilization procedures are necessary to stabilize his body and improve his cardio-pulmonary health. In other words, his medical team is doing all they can now to ensure he survives all future surgeries.

Many of us expect that if we work hard, with blessings and luck, we will get by. But life is ever changing and chaos arrives and challenges everything.  Any bit in the bucket will help greatly and if all you can afford is prayers, give in abundance.

Thank You,
Randy Gendron

UPDATE 9/18

Dave's progress was interrupted this weekend . I don't want to call it a set back because I thinks it's best to remain positive and hopeful. For those who are unable to follow Erica on Facebook these are a few of her recent posts regarding Dave:

"So I know you have all been wondering what's happening.. daves heart stopped this morning and they had to perform CPR for 10 mins to get him back... they found 1.3 liters of fluid surrounding his heart hat they think was the cause... they have drained it and he is considered stable... we are testing brain function over he next few days and won't know much till then.... please pray... please don't stop! I'm begging!" 9/17

"Update: he is awake and he was able to follow commands.. he is more weak than before but his brain function is good!" 9/18

UPDATE 9/02

To say thank you can not begin to express what your support has meant to the Tabor-Glick  family. The generosity, prayers, and well wishes so beautifully given by family, friends and friends of friends has raised the tide. All you have done has allowed the family to be together during this difficult time. The best update I can offer regarding Dave's progress come directly from Erica's recent Facebook posts:

" Surgery in about 20 mins!!! Please pray! The are going to replace the valves! Lord Jesus please be with us right now! " - 8/31/17

"HE MADE IT THROUGH!!!!!!!! Praise GOD!!! Still a little bit of a road to full recovery but HE MADE IT!!!! " - 8/31

"Good day today! Opened his eyes when we asked him too and when the kids talked to him and also when we talked about all of you!" - 9/01

"He squeezed mine and his mothers hands and shook his head yes and no answering questions and stuck his tongue out for Drs!" - 9/02

UPDATE 8/27

I begin this update with an inspired and grateful Thank You to all who have reached out in support of Dave, Erica and their family.

Because Dave's progress, surgery and return home remain a long road ahead, and after reading the following FaceBook post, I've decided to raise the campaign amount from $2000 to $6000 to encourage continued support.

From Facebook:
Please pray for my cousin Erica Tabor and her family. Her husband Dave is critically ill at Mass General and the family is in need of prayers and support. Erica is one of the strongest women I know- with the most beautiful soul. When I think of Proverbs 31, I think of her. Whatever you can do to help would be considered the best blessing.

"A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings, she plants a vineyard. She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. In her hand, she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet." ~ Proverbs 31:10-18.
