School looks a lot different this year, but one thing remains the same: the need for healthy, nutritious food to learn and grow.
Our Food for Kids: School Backpack Program makes a real difference in the lives of our community's children by providing free bags of child-friendly, nutritious food to children referred to us by local schools... every week!
This program was designed to provide easily prepared meals to utilize during weekends away from other resources, such as free breakfast and lunch programs. Although every school year presents a challenge to meet the needs of the children referred to us from Martinsville & Henry County schools, this year will be our greatest challenge yet.
We have created a hybrid system to get that much needed food to the children who depend on us, as well as groceries to their families, resources from other community agencies and employment opportunities.
As we face the challenges presented to our youth this year, will you consider partnering with us in the cause? We need your help more than ever!
