Leo

Tyler adopted Leo from the humane society August 25th of 2019. Since then, he has brought joy to all those that have gotten to meet him. He is incredibly sweet, playful, intelligent, and handsome. Leo immediately fit perfectly into his new family and was so grateful to have a forever home. Unfortunately, a couple weeks ago Leo suffered from a blocked bladder that resulted in him needing emergency surgery to make it so he could urinate again and hopefully save his life. He successfully made it through the surgery and was on the road to recovery when some complications took place. It was reported that Leo was doing much better and ready to come back home to his loving family. After a few days of being home, Leo began acting strange again. Leo was brought back into the vet where Tyler was told he was actually not blocked and was just having some minor irritation causing him to strain while trying to go to the bathroom. The veterinarian gave him IV medication, started him on a special diet, and prescribed meds to help make him feel back to his old, loving self. Leo was brought back home so he could begin resting and healing comfortably amongst his family. Sadly, he continued to show signs of being in pain and was unable to get anything out when he tried to go to the bathroom. It was evident that he once again was not able to urinate and was at risk of his bladder bursting, which would cause a horrible, painful death. Tyler had to bring Leo back into the vet where they discovered his bladder was once again fully blocked. Leo had to have the same surgery all over again in attempts to save his life. Thankfully, he made it through the surgery and was recovering at the vet. Leo was expected to make a full recovery and was getting ready to be brought back home with his family. Before he could go home, he had to have some additional tests done to ensure he was healthy. Tyler was absolutely devastated to learn that Leo had suffered complications that ultimately resulted in him having kidney disease. The vet informed him that she would be surprised if he made it passed two years old. Leo's family is absolutely heart broken and at a loss for words. Leo is a very special part of Tyler's life and his focus is now on giving him the greatest quality of life during the time he has left with him. This involves Leo being on a special prescription diet and various medications. As one can imagine, the vet bills are extremely high after two emergency surgeries, round the clock supervision, and all other care that was needed in efforts to save him. Tyler is currently well over $2000 in debt in efforts to keep Leo comfortable and healthy. You cannot put a price on the life of a beloved pet; his family would do anything it takes to ensure he is as comfortable as possible during his remaining time. I am creating this go fund me to help cover the extensive bills that Leo's dad has accumulated. While it is not expected, any donation at all is GREATLY appreciated. I simply want to help relieve some of the financial stress that has been caused so his family can focus on enjoying the time they have left with their very special boy. Once again, nothing is expected but anything is incredibly appreciated. Thank you all.
