Mario Flores, who is my stepfather, diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, was admitted to a nursing senior facility on April 7 in Uruguay, the country of his residency. After a month his health seemed to have completely deteriorated; lost most of his bodyweight, his independence, the ability to ambulate, or even stand on his feet. Recently, suffered a stroke that led to hemiplegia. Mario was removed immediately from that place by family members to be under care at his own home.
