We have fought hard to get our children off the streets. A little over two years ago. We got clean and sober. We went from living in motels to transitional living. The program we were in for transitional living is a year program. Plus we got an extra four months on top of that year. We have our name on every list you can think of for low income housing (our names have not come up yet). In the past couple of years we have worked hard to better support ourselves. Justin got a job where he has worked over a year now. I went thru a job reddiness course for homeless women called Women's Empowerment. Then I went back to school and will be going back again here soon since summer is about over. I also am working on getting my own business off the ground. It has been a bit slow starting. Our time was up in our transitional living apartment and we are back in a motel. We had money to move with back in March and we were victims of fraud and $1800 was stolen from us. We are fighting with a lawyer to get our money back. Still haven't had any luck with that. I have gone checked every resource offered to homeless families. Have also ran into some sort of road block with everyone of them. Justin either makes to much or not enough money. We aren't eligible for Calworks. Some resources are not accepting clients at this time. A couple people suggested I do a gofundme. I am really not sure how much to ask for. So I am setting it at $3000 and lets see if we can hit that goal amount. We are doing all this and maintaing our sobriety. Trusting in God! God bless you and thank you!
