Tina's fight against cancer!

Earlier last month, our family was stricken with devastating news. My Auntie Tina Vaia Menolascino was diagnosed with lung cancer in her right bronchial tube. My aunt, never being a smoker during her life, was plagued with this ruthless disease. On Wednesday, September 5th, she will have part of her right lung removed at Rush Hospital in Chicago due to the cancerous tumor.
While my Auntie Tina does have health insurance, her emergency hospitalization early last month at Elmhurst Hospital was not covered under her insurance plan. Because of this, she is now responsible for all medical costs incurred for the two and a half days she was treated there.
She was employed as a vendor at Carson's for over 19 years, but was let go in April when the store announced it's closing. She was hoping to be placed in another store soon, but now will be unable to work indefinitely due to her illness.
Additionally, her husband, my Uncle Frank, was injured last year. This resulted in him losing his full time position at his job. My Uncle's injuries prevent him from being able to lift heavy items (which is what his role entailed.) He currently is employed part time with minimal hours because of his injury.
My Aunt and Uncle have always been the average hard working couple. They worked tirelessly for years raising a family and providing what they could to their daughter, Nicole, and son, Frank. These medical bills, coupled with the lack of employment on both of their ends, have caused a detrimental financial hardship on her and her family.
We are hoping that the family and friends of the Menolascino's can donate to a fund that will help pay the current and future medical bills for my Aunt. While she is determined to overcome this horrible disease, the financial burden placed on her family looms wearily over her head. A contribution of any amount is so greatly appreciated.
