Campbell Twins!

Donation protected
We are reaching out on behalf of our good friend and Co-worker Trent Campbell and family. Trent is currently employed at Brandon Correctional Centre, highly involved in his community being a volunteer fire fighter, and a family man.

A Fundraiser Event is being held at Houston’s Bar and Grill on May 18th, 2018, where all the proceeds will be going to the family in this trying time and financial burden. And we’re reaching out to the community to help us in our goal of raising $25,000 to relieve the financial stress and emotional burden a time such as this can create.

A bit about the family... On the afternoon of December 14, 2017 Trent, Janelle and their son Landry started on an adventure, with the unexpected news that they are expecting identical TWINS! They also learned on that day that Janelle has a sub chorionic hematoma (blood clot) which causes bleeding between the placenta and uterus. From that day on Janelle was taken off of work as an early childhood educator, and unable to continue working for the duration of the pregnancy.

The following months were filled with constant travels into Winnipeg and Brandon for various appointments and emergency visits; as the pregnancy progressed the babies began showing signs of Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. This meant there was unequal fluid in the sacs as well as unequal blood flow causing one baby to be in cardiac distress. They were told they needed to be seen by a specialist in Winnipeg every 4 days and to be prepared of the possibility an emergency trip to Toronto could be scheduled any minute.

That time came at the end of March, Trent and Janelle spent 6 days in Toronto to have the surgery. The laparoscopic procedure to correct the fetal anomalies was relatively successful but not without some complications. During surgery a small tear was unexpectedly created between the two babies amniotic sacs, now putting babies at a very high risk for a premature delivery.

As a result of complications arising from  during the surgery, Janelle will need to be in close proximity to Health Sciences Centre from now until the end of April when the twins are expected to arrive. With this, Trent, Janelle and Landry will be in need of accommodations in Winnipeg to allow the family to be together as much as possible.

Currently babies are doing well but again require careful monitoring for the remaining duration of the pregnancy, as there are still ongoing complications. We hope that Janelle can carry their babies as far along as possible to deliver two healthy twins!

We’re asking you to take the time to consider supporting our cause to help the Campbell family with a donation. Your contribution would be greatly appreciated and acknowledged during the event.
