Marcia Recovery

Donation protected
Marcia Cunningham (aka Wonder Woman) is a wife, mother, grandmother, and great friend.
Marcia was diagnosed with PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) at age 9 and shares this disease with all 4 of her children. In April of 2013 she started to go into kidney failure and both kidneys were removed January 2014 due to pain, infections, and size of kidneys so she started dialysis 3 times weekly.
Since then she has tried to keep a positive attitude as well as her family.
Due to the disease she has been hospitalized many, many times- most trips causing her to have to stay in the ICU. She suffers from dangerously low blood pressure; blood clots; and countless other side effects. She has been taken off the transplant list due to the difficulty of her case. Dialysis drains her mentally and physically and she can hardly walk a distance without a wheel chair- she is only 44 years old.
At the beginning of October she was taken by ambulance to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital with abdominal pain. After being admitted and transported to her room she went to go to the bathroom and was found on the floor in cardiac arrest. CPR was performed. She was taken to the ICU. She was on a ventilator (breathing tube) for 10 days. She had 8 broken/fractured ribs due to CPR that was needed to bring her back from the cardiac arrest. She had a feeding tube, and so many IV’s and medicines it’s hard to count. At one point she was on 24 hour dialysis just to try and control fluids, and had to trace words on your hand.
She since then has been discharged from the hospital after almost a month. The recovery is tough. The pain and anxiety is very overwhelming for her. Every time she gets pain she gets scared and says I don't want to die. That is something I hate hearing.
We are struggling greatly. I have missed alot of work due to back and forth hospital trips and doctor follow ups. The bills have piled up. We are struggling to afford to put food on the table, or put gas in the car. This has taken a big toll on our family. ANY help/donation is greatly appreciated. God Bless.
