Tanzania 2019 - Camps International

In the summer of 2018 I was offered an amazing opportunity by Camps International (https://campsinternational.com/) to go to Tanzania for 4 weeks in August 2019. Only 15 people signed up from my school which may be due to the overall cost of £3,700. Camps encourage their participants to fundraise as much of the costs themselves as possible   and to take ownership of all aspects of planning the trip, from vaccinations to the kit list.  The reasons Camps International go: 1) 40% of people in Tanzania are living under the poverty line. 2) Half the population live on less than $1 a day. 3) Average life expectancy is 55 years old.  During our time in the country we will help generations of children  by building new school classrooms or nurseries; we will construct vitally needed community housing made from local materials for some of the most impoverished families; we will also improve the health of whole communities through installing and improving local amenities.  We will install new water facilities for humans and animals alike and we will help local people by making elephant poo paper and flip flop keyrings which they can then sell.  On  top of that we will embark on a 3-day trek through the tropical rainforests of the Usambara Mountains.  Any help and support will be greatly appreciated.
