Panda's Journey to Recovery

Donation protected
Hi,

We have a 3 1/2 year old Standard Fox terrier and her name is Panda and on Friday 3rd November our little girl was attacked by a group of dogs near our Cedar Creek property. We found her on the first landing of our stairs (10 stairs) covered in mud, dripping with water (our creek which she would have crossed to get home - 200 mtrs) and lots of blood.
Instantly scooped her up and transported her to the Vets. They took her in straight away and administered IV fluids and pain relief. They then went into surgery that evening, which took approx 4 1/2 hours and found 6 broken ribs (not fractured but completely broken), a collapsed left lung, numerous amount of puncture wounds, which they lost count of, and had to put her intestines back in and because her oxgen levels were getting dangerously low they weren't able to locate where the bladder was and proceeded to close her up. They thought they would have to go into surgery the next day but her blood levels were so low they said she would not survive another anaesthetic. Fortunately after a few days her bladder started working.  The last 9 days have been such a turmoil on our emotions and not knowing if she would pull through. The Windaroo Veterinary Surgery have been so good, and in particular Lisa Roberts (the owner) who on her days off was still in there monitoring and taking bloods and caring for our little girl.  I am so grateful to Jenny (vet nurse) who brought her dog in to give Panda the blood transfusions she needed.
We don't have Pet Insurance and if her ribs don't heal she may have to have surgery to wire them together so the lung does not collapse again.
Thanking you in advance for any help you can give us to bring our girl back to good health. We are needing $6,800.00 initially to pay the up front costs with the surgery, blood and plasma transfusions, overnight stays in hospital, multiple blood tests sent to lab, medications, X-rays and ultrasounds.
Panda is our ratter and snake catcher and we have been told that she can be over excited, jumping up and down on the spot,  but she just wants to make sure she has your attention. She is such a gentle soul and loves chasing balls, trying to catch water splashes (grandkids splashing in the pool) and has broken nossils on hoses due to her water obsession.
My husband is a builder and at the beginning of the year, due to Cyclone Debbie, our 2 sheds went under water and we lost all of his building tools. We did have insurance but we weren't covered for them which was thousands of dollars and our livelihood
