I’m a passionate basketball player who is hoping to be in a team such as the NBA some day. I get up every day, run a mile and practice to better my skills every single time. Unfortunately, while I was playing a scrimmage with my team last week, I went through the worst experience of my life I was mid-jump when a teammate pushed me with force. The force used on my body caused me to hit the metal benches, hard. I fell to the ground in agonizing pain as I looked down at my now gushing leg. The ambulance was immediately called and I was taken to the emergency room where the doctor told me I was dealing with a oblique displaced fracture on my left leg and a fractured right ankle. The fracture on my left leg was so severe, it cut through my skin and I had gone through a huge loss of blood. I’m still in the hospital now and I’ve been told I will not be able to keep playing basketball without a massive surgery on my left leg. A couple of days ago, I was informed I would need to get my leg amputated from the lack of regeneration of cells and slow healing process. I’ve gone through multiple surgeries now and as an individual who does not have insurance, my parents don’t have the money to pay for my medical expenses. They don’t want to ask for help but I know it’d be greatly appreciated if everyone who saw this donated at least one dollar.
