Deonte Cobbs Funeral Expenses

Donation protected

Deonte Cobbs was a McKeesport High School Student who was tragically killed on September 3, 2015 when he was struck by a school bus. Deonte was dearly loved by his family and friends. This is being set up to help his family pay for final expenses. All money will go to Deonte's guardian, Tuwanna Coward.

Who was Deonte Cobbs?

Deonte had a rough beginning but was a survivor. He overcame much is his short life  with the help of his devoted family.

I am going to begin the story with Tuwanna Coward. Tuwanna is his aunt and became his guardian at a very young age.

Deonte , De De to those who loved and knew him well was a very lovable boy described as very affectionate.

At age six he was hit by a truck and had to have a stent put into his head. He spent a long time in Children's Hospital and also the Childrens Institute where he relearned to walk and talk.

De De loved his siblings and family with all of his heart! Like most teenagers he loved music, his cell phone and Facebook! He loved to ride bikes and his skateboard.  De De loved peanut butter cookies, spaghetti, chicken and hotdogs.

He was a great  football fan and coming from a huge football school like McKeesport he wanted very much to play but the stent in his head was always an issue for Aunt Tuwanna . It was a safety concern. He loved it though!

De De  loved life and wanted very much to be a police officer when he grew up.

De De was so excited about this new school year.  His Aunt Tuwanna let him shop and pick out his own gear. This was the first year he got to do that. In his words he was going to look "fresh".

His teachers said he was doing great this year. He was on time for classes and doing very well.  He loved school and was very happy to go back.

The day he passed there was a horrible rain. He crossed the street and the rest of the details are being sorted out but we know how his story ended.

What is my relationship to De De and Tuwanna Coward and why am I doing this?

I never met them, did not know them  and have only been in contact with Tuwanna since the tragedy of September 3, 2015. I am a mom of  three boys in the  school district. My outer shell may look   different than Tuwanna but on the inside my heart and soul are the same.

This story is not about me but I want you to know my heart and where I am coming from so that you may decide to give to this family.

I am going to share my story of the day and what compelled me to step forward.

On Thursday afternoon around the time of bus dismissal, I was working at home and looking outside my window. The rain suddenly began to pour. I mean crazy rain. Moments later I heard sirens and within two minutes a friend told me what happened. There were 5 full minutes when I could not get in touch with my son. In those 5 minutes I cried out to God please let my son be safe. I was relieved to learn my son was fine but could not stop praying and crying for the boy who was struck by a school bus leaving school during a horrible rain storm. A little while later I learned he died. I have been praying for his family and could not get them out of my head. Today I learned that there would be expenses that would need to be taken care of...This precious boy could be any of ours...

Please give and please please share this post. Ask your friends to share and make sure your settings are  set to public... Even if you can only give your starbucks money . Every bit helps. Let's bless and take care of this family. If you are a praying person, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
