Support Riverbed Reading Series!

Finding community can be hard at any time, but the arts allow us the opportunity to reach across barriers and come together through creativity and curiosity. We are honoured that so many of you were able to help keep us going over the last two years, and we hope you can continue to help us, whether through a few dollars or a few dozen.

We believe that artists deserve to be paid for their work. All funds raised through this fundraiser will go directly to our performers. Any extras will go towards the administrative costs affiliated with running an event series such as ours. Artists and organizers across Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Turtle Island and the world continue to help us through stressful times, and will continue to do so.

We are excited to continue bringing you deeply curative iterations every quarter, and our third season has much in store for you!

ABOUT US:

Riverbed Reading Series is co-curated by Ellen Chang-Richardson, nina jane drystek, Joseph Mathieu & Rachel Weldon. We are driven by the belief that the artistic spheres are connected; and aim to be an inclusive, experimental gathering space at the intersection of literature, music and performance.

When we set out to start Riverbed Reading Series in Fall 2019, we hoped to bring the literary cabaret to life in Ottawa-Gatineau by curating events that met at the intersection of literature, music and performance. We imagined Club SAW (our venue partner) alive with conversation, community exchanges, and the brilliance of our performers. With COVID-19 around to stay, we  have created a unique gathering space and now offer hybrid events that allow us to continue sharing in the arts and their power to help us carry through.

We look forward to welcoming everyone, whether in person or online, to our contemporary cabaret.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Riverbed and for contributing if you are able. No matter where you go after this, we hope you will continue to support artists and organizers wherever you may be.
