KARLI NEEDS YOUR HELP NOW!

Karli is a 24 year old who has suffered from Cystic Fibrosis (CF) since birth. CF is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. CF mainly affects the lungs, but also the digestive system as well as other organs. Karli has spent countless days in the hospital and endured multiple surgeries but continues to fight. From an early age Karli has needed a feeding tube for nutrition and a port-a-cath for IV antibiotics. As a teenager Karli also developed Cystic Fibrosis Related Diabetes (CFRD). Although Karli gets an additional 2880 calories overnight she continues to struggle with weight loss. Karli has describesCF as having to breathe through a straw 24/7, or trying to breathe underwater. Can you imagine going through daily life struggling to breathe through even the simplest of tasks? 

While dealing with her CF, Karli has managed to be a productive member of society.  She inspires so many with her positive attitude and tenacious spirit. Karli has proven her desire to defy the odds when she worked her way through nursing school and passed her state boards with only 75 questions. Again when accepting a position on Rhode Island Hospital's trauma burn unit. She is not done yet, Karli has so much to offer and we need to help her help others.

Karli needs a double lung transplant and we need to raise funds to get her to Ohio where she has the best chance of getting her lungs as fast as possible.
