Sad but True
Hi, my name is Kevin. About eight years ago, I became blind because of undiagnosed and mistreated high blood pressure. Just over two years ago I had surgery to attach my kneecap to my body. I woke up during the surgery, (I don't recommend it), and they put me back to sleep, and in doing so, the anesthesia poisoned me. I am now brain-damaged, and am a quadriplegic as a result of the poisoning. My motto is "I'm not dead yet". My life has been rich and filled with friends and family. I did stand-up comedy, and was a DJ for over 20 years. I worked for state government. I was in a nursing home, I got that off my bucket list. I proposed to my wife in the nursing home, what can I say, I am a hopeless romantic. My wife used to say music is my life, and I used to say it is much more important than that.
I have always been the person to lend a hand or make someone laugh. It's difficult for me to ask for help. Over the last 2 1/2 years we have spent over $50K on my medical expenses. We have drawn out savings, retirement funds and are still paying off sizable debt. In the coming year I will incur cost of a power chair and many other ongoing medical expenses. Any money raised will go toward a power wheelchair and ongoing medical costs far too numerous to list here.
I am mortally embarrased if I led anybody astray and into thinking we have massive debt.
If you can help, great, if you can't help, I hope I made you laugh.
Kevin
