Medicine Hat's own, MY 96 voice of the morning Kim Johnston, has recently had to undergo extensive jaw surgery. He was having pain in his face, mouth, and his jaw with speaking and chewing, and due to a severe jaw malalignment, it was determined that he needed to have extensive surgery to fix the deformity, which will eventually help with his pain. This surgery, which he underwent last week is incredibly painful, and is just phase 1 of his double jaw surgery, and further procedures will need to be done in 2019! This surgery is being done in Calgary, which involves travel and is NOT covered by Alberta Health Services. The official cost of this procedure is $40,000.00!
Kim has lived and worked in Medicine Hat for a decade, he has enhanced our city with his beacon of presence, both on air and privately, and has been a champion for Medicine Hat's businesses, charitable organizations, and schools.

My hope is to rally the city of Medicine Hat to support Kim and his young family as the immense cost of this surgery would be daunting for anyone, but at Christmastime it is a rather heavy burden for them to bear. Let him hear our collective voice of support loud and clear, and let him know that he is cared about and loved.
