Julia's Recovery

For the ongoing and continued recovery and rehab of my wife Julia Luchko.
On Tuesday August 21st we welcomed our baby girl Svetlana Elizabeth Luchko to the world, Julia was then discharged that Thursday. The following Thursday turned out to be the worst day in my short life.
Julia and I exchanged our typical morning goodbye kiss and “I love you babe” at 6am as I left for work. At 9am she called her mother, who lives up the street, in distress and wasn’t able to speak as to what or why. Julia was rushed to Franklin Square Hospital, who then promptly transported her to University of Maryland Medical Center in downtown Baltimore, specifically into the shock trauma unit.
It was determined that Julia was suffering from cranial hemorrhaging or bleeding inside her brain specifically the left frontal lobe. The following evening and morning resulted in her brain shifting from the bleeding, causing it to swell, initiating emergency brain surgery to remove part of her skull to stop the pressure building.
She is currently in a wake and alert state following 6 days of incubation. Her prognosis is favorable with a lengthy road to recovery. Doctors estimate it to be anywhere from 6 months to a year for a full recovery if at all.
This campaign is help ease the financial burden we will undoubtedly face in her recovery and medical treatment. With a young baby at home, her older daughter age 10 Emily, anything is helpful.
Family and friends have been crucial in her progress with constant prayer and encouragement have really been exemplified in her ongoing success. Thank you for all that you’ve done, it doesn’t go unnoticed and will never be forgotten.
