Laying Uncle Timmy to rest

Timmy was more than an Uncle, more than a son and more than a brother. No matter what was going on, no matter who was in trouble he was the voice of reason. He always had a way of talking sense into you, he always managed to stay calm and level headed.  I can remember as far back as to when I was a toddler and upset about the silliest things and he would always find a way to reason with my little girl problems. With every family there are battles, Timmy was Switzerland, he never chose sides and he always had a way to show his love through every ounce of his being.  Timmy never had children of his own which gave him a truly special bond with all of his neices and nephews. He  became very sick after having a botched surgery in 2004 and his health declined from then on. Which soon led him loosing his job, house, truck and boat. After years of battling illness, he ended up in Bradford, a homeless vet. He was lucky enough to find great freinds and support through the VA. I truly beleive he survived so long because of the support from his family, Vets Inc., VA and especially his mom.  He died on January 27th in his new home which he was beyond proud of. He took pride of his time in the service, he served from9/25/87 to 1/24/92 in the Air Force.  Timmy didn't have life insurance, he moved into his home with two bags to his name. The VA can't help with the funeral services because he wasn't service connected. Social Securty denied his death benfits because he doesn't have a spouse or children. We're out of options at this point and are asking for any help we can get.
