Purrs and Pastries Cat Cafe Needs Your Help!

When Portland's first cat cafe closed it's doors in late 2018, I knew my dream of owning the next Portland cat cafe had come to fruition! In December 2018, I started the process of bringing Purrs and Pastries Cat Cafe to life. In January I found a great location on the west side, in Tigard, to rent and have partnered with Felines First Rescue to feature adoptable kitties in a comfortable, quiet living room-like setting!

I've reached out to a friend to help me run the daily operations in the cafe where we will feature delectable treats from local bakeries.  We've met with a variety of vendors to feature in the retail shop area of the cafe as well.

At this stage of the plan, I am seeking financial support to fund the initial start up process including the purchase of equipment and supplies for both the cafe and the cat room.  I have found a counter, cash register system, bakery display cases and a refrigerated display case for cupcakes, cakes, cookies and pies.

We will "catify" the cat room with vertical areas for cats to play and jump to safely made by Hauspanther systems. In addition we need to purchase a POS (Point of Sale) system that integrates with a credit card processor and focuses on all aspects of running a small business including inventory, sales projections, staff time management duties and e-commerce responsibilities.

I am working hand in hand with Steve, my SCORE SBA mentor and have the business plan and 4 month financial projections spreadsheet completed and ready to present to the lender for the majority of the funding that I am seeking.

We all know that cat cafes are spreading across the United States very quickly; and we KNOW they work to help adoptable cats find their forever homes! Visiting adoptable cats in a setting other than a busy, loud and stressful shelter increases their chances of having a positive interaction with potential family members. Cats that aren't in cages are more friendly, less territorial and able to put their best foot forward!

And to have a comfortable, quiet and relaxing setting to watch cats and their visitors is what a cat cafe is all about!

Whether someone has an allergy to cats in your family,  if your landlord doesn't allow pets in your home, or maybe you just love cats and don't have one in your life: Purrs and Pastries Cat Cafe is the place to come on the west side of Portland to mingle with friendly felines and grab a sweet treat!

I'm hoping to get the doors to Purrs and Pastries Cat Cafe open in mid April! We've got to get the architect plans done, the build-out coordinated and the checklist for seating, tables, cat trees, cat play systems, dishes and coffee equipment outlined.

By donating to our fund, you will become a "Clowder Partner" and will
receive a one year membership to Purrs and Pastries Cat Cafe.
Members will receive discounted admission to the cat room, and savings on pastries and beverages in the cafe. I'm super excited to get my dream up and running and thank you for your donation!
