Hi, my name is Bogart,

I am a true rescue cat, right from off the street. I was noticed when a

lady heard some rustling at her back door, and when she looked out, she

saw me trying to find a crumb of food in the recycle box. Of course,

there’s no food, and I was very disappointed and was trying my best to

survive. The woman felt a tug at her heart and brought me into the house

right away. She wasn’t able to keep me unfortunately and she reached out

to cat rescues, and found Pet Patrol. When I arrived at the sanctuary,

the first thing they noticed was that my gums and tongue were purple. I

was feeling fine, ate, drank and chilling with the other cats and soon I

was at the vet to be neutered and assessed. The diagnosis explained that

my body was making too many red blood cells. Nothing could be done, and

most cats tend to do fine. Why this happens vets didn’t know, but they

suggested a referral to the Ontario Veterinarian College. It’s a

teaching hospital, and they have state of the art diagnostics and

specialists. This is a good idea but anything involving $specialists has

a big dollar sign attached. I know that Pet Patrol was not expecting

this cost but would really like to know for sure what I have and how to

treat it so I can have a forever home. Would you be able to donate

towards this very important appointment ?
