Purchasing a community defibrillator

Many of us witnessed recent incidents at football matches, firstly during Euro 2021 and then again during a Premier League game in October 2021 when it showed how important it is for quick access to a defibrillator to give someone the best chance of survival during a cardiac arrest.
We are REACH School, an Alternative Provision School educating young people in years 9-11. Based in Kings Heath, and because of these recent incidents we have decided that as part of our fundraising this year, we will raise money to purchase a public access defibrillator. It is our intention that this will be fitted at the front of the school for the whole of the Kings Heath community to be able to use. By placing it outside of the school building it ensures that if there is a need for the defibrillator to be used on evenings, weekends or holidays, then members of the public can gain access to it.
There is a lack of life saving equipment in the area and we intend to work alongside Kings Heath BID to purchase enough for the whole High Street, starting with this one outside of REACH School.
