Costa Rica 2015

As you all know, the past few years I have been able to go to Costa Rica and do missions work with a group from my church. It has been one the best and most memorable parts of my year each time. I love getting to know the kids, teach, experience the cultural, and spread the word of God. This year a new opportunity has presented itself! A friend and mentor of mine, Jenny Lee, moved to Costa Rica about two years ago as she felt Christ was calling her to do his work in the city La Fortuna.
Jenny has started a discipleship program this year and has asked me to be one of the six girls that comes to live with her for a few weeks this summer. There are many parts of the program and she has given little bits to fit each of us girls specifically. Some of the things I will be doing are:
-small construction
-participating in the youth program at one of the local churches
-building relationships with both the kids and adults in the area
-giving English lessons/tutoring sessions
-teaching and helping out in the classrooms (k-12)
-helping with the children's program at the church
-participating with the worship team
-discipleship study
-and whatever else God presents us
I will also be able to grow in my knowledge of the Spanish language and culture that I have been studying. In addition, I may have the opportunity to visit the global campus our church, The Cove, is building close to the Nicaragua/Costa Rica border.
First and foremost, I ask that each of you be in prayer that God will use and grow me during this time. Pray that I am able to reach and teach people of all ages about the love of Christ, and that those I encounter will be able to see Christ through me. Pray also for safe travels to, from, and during the trip.
I also ask you to pray about partnering with me financially for this mission trip. The money I raise will go towards my flight ticket, living expenses, discipleship materials, construction material, and project supplies while there.
This is truly an amazing opportunity I have been given, and I am grateful for it. I will be thankful for any amount you might be able to donate to help me reach my goal.
