Puppy Woody

Hi everyone, my name is Toni and just recently my boyfriend, Eric, and I finally decided to buy a dog after thinking about it for a year as well as saving for one for a year. We went through a breeder in Mound City, Kansas that was part of the American Kennel Club. Both parents were fully registered and this breeder has been breeding labs for a while. We thought we could fully trust him. As soon as brought Woody home he was timid and nervous. We thought this was because he was away from his brothers and sisters and in a new environment. Within the first 10 minutes of being home he threw up. He went on to throw up a few more times and didn’t eat for 24 hours. We knew at this point something was wrong so we took him to the vet as soon as possible. Woody tested positive for Parvo and now needs to get extensive treatment. We were not expecting these expenses at all as we trusted the breeder and that Woody was given all of his puppy shots. On the high end his expenses will come out to be 4,000 dollars and on the low end 2,000 dollars. I graduated college  a year ago and due to Covid I am still getting established in my career. I work full time but will not be able to cover these expenses on my own. Eric is still in school and will begin student teaching in the next couple of months so will not be able to work. We would appreciate anyone who is willing to help our puppy, Woody. We are deeply saddened that we are having to make this only after having him for a day.
