Puppy Love for Paws in Houston

All of us at Selma Mansion and the Sharon D. Virts Foundation are heartbroken by the displacement and suffering of so many people and pets in Houston and on the Texas coast as a result of Hurricane Harvey. We are asking our loyal SMR followers to donate a few dollars...$5, $10, $20... whatever your heart and budget allow, to help feed the many pets that have been sheltered in the surrounding communities until they can be reunited with their owners. Polly and Cassie are fortunate pups...but there are many of their four-legged friends who are suffering right now. What can you do to help support this cause? All of your donations will be distributed by the Sharon D. Virts Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable foundation (refer to our ID  569372235 for your charitabke deduction).

We are the Sharon D. Virts Foundation, a charitable 501(c)3 non-profit organization operating in the commonwealth of Virginia. The Foundation will be the direct beneficiary of your donation and will match, dollar for dollar, all contributions to this campaign. 

We are raising money for a number of animal shelters in Texas that are overflowing with pets displaced by the Hurricane.  Your donation and our matching will be sent to no-kill shelters we've identified in the Houston area as well as in San Antonio and Austin. We'll make out first withdrawal on Tuesday (9/5) and send the money to CARE of Texas who are sheltering displaced pets from the Texas coast. The rest of the funds will be withdrawn as soon as we raise it and will be sent to two other shelters we identified in the Houston area.
