Puppy Freckles Hospital Bill

The Tunica Humane Society is a no-kill shelter in Tunica, MS. This shelter needs your help with a seriously injured puppy named Freckles. The shelter was not prepared financially for this unexpected emergency and your support would be greatly appreciated. On Aug. 25, Freckles’ owner drove to Tunica County, MS today to surrender Freckles, his sister Sprinkles and their mom Pinky.
The man told the shelter director, Sandy Williams, that Freckles was attacked by a large dog a few days ago and he desperately needed medical care. The dog’s front leg is badly broken and his condition is very grim as he is running a high fever. His owner couldn't take care of Pinky and her two dogs and said he had to turn to someone for help, even though the owner lives in Tate County, MS. With the recent changes in their personnel at the Tate County animal shelter and budget cutbacks, Sandy was afraid of what would happen to these innocent dogs. So even though the Tunica Humane Society is bursting at the seams, they took another leap of faith and took this mom and her two puppies in.
Freckles’ front leg is broken in half. He has a long road back but puppies are very resilient. Sandy took Freckles to the animal emergency hospital on Saturday, August 25. Freckles is getting fluids and antibiotics for his many puncture wounds. No dog should have to endure what Freckles has suffered. He has endured a great deal of pain over the last few days for such a young dog. But remarkably, he continues to wag his tail.
One emergency visit to the animal hospital usually costs between $400-$500. Surgery, x-rays, pre-op care and meds, post-op meds and follow up visits is estimated to be approximately $5000. Please help the Tunica Humane Society help Freckles.
