Pumpkin the Stray Kitten

51825732_160243118494643_r.jpegOn Sunday October 4th, my family and I were taking a walk in the neighborhood. We came across a kittens cry for help. It looked like “pumpkin” was maybe hit by a car since he was dragging his left back leg.

We walked 1/2 a mile back home and pumpkin continued to follow us. I then poured some of my infants milk for him on the side walk and pumpkin took a sip, but as hungry as he was he left it behind and continued to follow us home.

We then gave pumpkin some tuna and water back at home... to then discover he also has a broken tail.

We posted pumpkin on our community fb group but nobody could come rescue him.

The following day at 7AM we found pumpkin balled up on our doorstep. Considering pumpkins fight for life and a home, we decided to keep him.

we took him to the vet and was told he was attacked by another animal. His leg is healing fine(not broken) but his tail definitely needs to be amputated. Pumpkin has only been with us fora week and we have already potty trained, bathed and removed all fleas.

We would really like to keep pumpkin but we cannot afford his tail amputation. Due to covid Ihad to quit my job to attend my children at home, there is only one source of income at the moment and we currently have our mortgage on forbearance.

Pumpkin has really taken a liking to us and we would really hate to have to turn him into a shelter. At the moment he is in stable condition but his tail is scheduled to be amputated in October 16th. If we don’t come up with the moneyby then we will have to give him forward.

Once his tail gets amputated we can follow up with his regular vaccinations. We were told to wait until after.

Please and thank you!
