Puerto Rico Hurricane Recovery

Donation protected
We are a group of middle-school students in New York City who are trying to raise money for Puerto Ricans affected by Hurricane Maria. Many of us have Puerto Rican family, friends, and neighbors, but all of us care. The majority of Puerto Rico is currently without electiricity or running water. Food is very scarce and hard to come by. Flooding and high wind speeds have destroyed homes, carried away cars, and and left roads impassable, making transportation of people and supplies challenging. Airports are clogged with people trying to get out. People have lost everything.

Unfortunately, our president's response has been less than useful, attacking the Mayor of San Juan and complaining that the island is inaccessible because it is "surrounded by water. Big water. Ocean water."

The least we could do is help. We have the power to help an entire island restore power, food, gas, water, houses, stores, and most importantly, hope. Puerto Rico is staying strong in the peril that they now face. We could not stop the hurricane that hurt them, but we can help them by donating money on this GoFundMe page. We must stand with our brothers and sisters in this time of crisis. Show that you can be strong and help where our president does not. Donate to this page and spread the word to your friends and family. Every dollar counts and will go straight to Hurricane Maria Community Recovery Fund, a local organization that is using 100% of all funds that are raised to provide immediate relief, recovery, and rebuilding in Puerto Rico.
