Puerto Rico Holiday Food Drive

Donation protected
Over a month after Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, so many families are still struggling for the basic necessities of food and water.  As government agencies struggle to decentralize their efforts, communities have taken it upon themselves to help the ill, shelter the homeless and feed the hungry.

My husband and I have supported these grassroots efforts, sending water and basic supplies and yet I still have sleepless nights.  I needed to do something more.

My Mother has always taught us to celebrate the littlest things.  When joy meets suffering, darkness is filled with light and sadness disappears.  Celebration fills our hearts with love, light and abundance.  A holiday food drive can be our way of gifting a night of celebration to families in darkness.

So I ask...would you help us fill a family's heart with love and abundance this holiday season?

For $105 you can sponsor a FAMILY OF  EIGHT to receive an amazing Turkey Feast, specially packaged as emergency supply food by Augason Farms.   Hey it's no Puerto Rican pork roast but I was so excited when I found this!  We will send this package PLUS a case of water to each family, with your generous donation.

All packages are being sent to the RBC Maria Relief efforts in Rincon,  a non-profit started by the Rincon Beer Company in downtown Rincon.  They have completely converted their brewpub into a 24 hour distribution center and soup kitchen.  They are so excited to go beyond their daily relief efforts to be able to remind families that they are loved during the holidays.

MY GOAL IS TO SPONSOR 100 FAMILIES!

Please sponsor a family... or two!
Ask a friend to sponsor a family.
If you can't sponsor a family on your own, pool funds with friends, give whatever you can!

And please...spread the word and spread the love.

Gracias!

Backstory:
On the morning of September 19th, my Mother and Uncle flew to Puerto Rico to tend to my 92 year old Grandmother who has insisted on living on her own in the beautiful beachtown of Puerto Rico called Rincon.  She and my Step Grandfather had made it their home for over 30 years...local celebrities known as Dona Flor and Don Juan and admired for dominating the dance floor, even on Don Juan's 100th birthday!  Last year, Don Juan passed away just before his 101st birthday and the loving community of Rincon has looked after my Grandmother as if she was their very own Abuelita.

We were fortunate to get my Mother, Uncle and Grandmother to the states on a humanitarian flight put the pain they left behind in Rincon has still haunted me.
Thank you for helping me pay back the community of Rincon by filling their hearts and their bellies!
