Puerto Rico - Evacuate and Rebuild

I was moved to help when I received this email from my dear friend, Margarita.

"My family is in desperate need. My niece is trying to get out of the island with her two young daughters. She said people are so desperate for food, gas, and water, they're getting violent. She said it looks and feels like a war zone, and still no aid is getting to them, and she's in one of the worse flood areas affected and lost everything. The children are traumatized and don't understand what's happening, wearing the same clothes, staying with friends, it's horrific."

If you are like me, you have donated to one or more of the relief agencies, but still left feeling like there is more that you should be doing to help the people of Puerto Rico and all of those affected by the hurricanes, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions that have occurred just in last couple of weeks on Planet Earth.

This is our chance to do something meaningful. Help one family reach safety by providing funds to get to the mainland, regroup and return to Puerto Rico to rebuild when the time is right. 

Any funds collected will be used first and foremost to see this family to safety, then used to help them rebuild their lives, as they have lost all but the clothes on their back.  Any excess funds will be used to help other families in need in Puerto Rico.

While I am so sad for all of those who are hurting right now, I am grateful to be able to help in some small way and to offer this opportunity to you as well.
