Puerto Rico dog rescue/adoption

HELP!!!!

The hurricane damage to Puerto Rico is an unimaginable tragedy.  What is not widely known is of an ongoing tragedy of thousands and thousands of stray mix breed dogs in P.R.....the latest estimate is about 300,000 at any one time are roaming the land or are allowed to die.  For the past 6 years the Allianza, under the direction of Roberto Arizmendi and his 10 fellow unpaid volunteers have taken care at any one time of anywhere from 35-70 dogs, all spayed and neutered at a cost of about $550 by a dedicated solitary vet, and directly or indirectly they have managed to get several thousand dogs successfully adopted and taken to the mainland U.S.  When we were there in March we adopted little Dora, 50% chihuahua and 50% other breeds, and 100% loving and sweet.  But the recent hurricane totally destroyed the sanctuary.....all the dogs were saved and are now living with the volunteers, but their cages and the land have been decimated.  And the crisis is worsening every day as homeowners abandon their houses and are leaving their pets in the houses and yards, or just set them free to fend for themselves.  Won’t you please reach out and help these selfless volunteers and help rebuild this wonderful dog sanctuary?  And while you are at it, please consider adopting a stray mix breed (“sato”)?  You’ll be glad you did!!!
