Public Health experience in migration crisis

Donation protected
Hello, I'm Jonas Attilus. I'm a MPH candidate at Rutgers University. I graduated from Medical school in Mexico. I went home, Haiti, then the US and France to get more clinical experience. I developed an interest in migrant health, social medicine, and global health.

Keeping the big picture in mind helps me see health beyond medicine. Health is more than diseases and treatment. We need to explore the social, economic, legal and political forces that drive it, so we can better serve our patients.

I recently received the opportunity to spend 2 weeks in Greece to study the 2015 migration crisis. We will have experts from both the US and Greece that will help us to analyze and understand how factors such as demographic, sociocultural, biological, occupational and environmental came together to create the 2015 migrant crisis.

I will visit the site where the refugees live, talk with the healthcare providers and spend time with Greek Public Health students. Coming back to New Jersey, I will use my knowledge for research about migrant

I secured 60 % of the fund needed and I need the 40% left which is $3150
1400: part of the program cost
1300: flight ticket
200: personal expenses
50: local transportation
200: meals

I will be happy if you can contribute to help me gain a deeper understanding of migrant and vulnerable people's health.
