PTSD Forum: Help reduce suicide rates

Tax deductible

STAND TALL FOR PTS URGENTLY NEED DONATIONS TO ASSIST WITH OUR PTSD FORUM!

178 Australians attempt to take their own life everyday.

Successful programs at reducing the suicide rate are being ignored and numbers continue to increase every year. Mental Health is the largest medical problem in our country in terms of fatalities.

For the past ten years there has been no discernible improvement in treatment or successful results of PTSD. Millions of dollars have been spent on research and the same treatments remain each year. There is little or no funding available for other avenues with proven results.

After the recent bushfires, numbers of those affected by PTSD are set to rise from the second half of this year.

Our mission is to empower those people affected by PTSD and Mental Trauma through awareness, knowledge and action.  In August of 2020, Stand Tall will stage PTS21, an International Forum designed to tackle the three main subjects:

1. TRANSITION
2. SUICIDE
3. MODELS OF CARE

These subjects have been carefully chosen and approved by experienced mental health professionals, two former chiefs of defence and a police assistant commissioner.

Stand Tall is seeking donations to assist with the facilitation of the Forum.

As a single entity we struggle to make an impact with Government even though we collaborate with others. The answer is to combine seriously with many others in the PTSD and Mental Trauma space.

Since its founding in 2010 Stand Tall for PTS has grown to become arguably Australia’s foremost promoter of PTSD and Mental Trauma Awareness amongst our Military, Veterans and First Responders and Emergency Services. We have staged two major national awareness events in 2016 and 2018 and two international conferences in 2015 and 2017 which were hailed as great successes at the time but now,  the long term effect was negligible.

The Stand Tall vision is to ensure that this generation and future generations of Australians comprehend the dynamic and social impacts created by PTSD. Stand Tall will react to the fundamental needs of people experiencing PTSD and Mental Trauma, as well as the needs of their families, friends, workmates and the broader Australian population.

We are at a major crisis point in this space in Australia and the rest of the world. Our recommendations at the Forum will be the results of the worlds best practice. The time is now for action. These brave men and women deserve all of our help in restoring them to become contributing members of our society once again.

Help contribute to the development and delivery of quality services, activities, events and outcomes to assist those affected by PTSD and Mental Trauma. Stand Tall believes that we should all try to be proactive and not reactive.

In a recent study it was shown that only 28% of funders give money for mental health. For every five dollars given for cancer only one dollar is given for mental health. This has to change.
