Dan's Cancer Treatment Fund

Life is rife with cruel irony. Devastating it is when ones own body goes astray. In this case the victim is a very dear friend and brother of mine, who has lived a full life of hard work, hard play and humanitarian effort. Suffering back pain thought to be caused by his working to renovate a home for his family, Dan went to the doctor. The diagnosis, soft tissue sarcoma. An unusual form of cancer. Father of five, Dan and Britt had just adopted two youngsters, a two and a five-year old. These are grandchildren for whom Dan and Britt stepped in to see raised in a caring, loving home. A home now at risk due to the absurdly high cost of medical treatment amplified by the fact that Dan’s ability to work has been interrupted by the effects of the disease and its treatment.


Dan is a bold and noble man and I can think of no finer example of a well deserved need for support. Contributions will not only help defray the cost of treatment, a backbone of support will strengthen the resolve which is so important to making these battles successful.
